We visited RVCA/ANP artist Kevin Ancell at his studio, where he waxed poetic about religion, politics, and the inevitability that ‘things are gonna snap.’ If he had to describe his work, he’d go with ‘Neo-romanticism’, though he opposes labeling things. In fact, he opposes anything rigid or authoritarian. The term ‘Zero fucks given’ gets thrown around pretty haphazardly these days, but Kevin Ancell is the real deal. You could check every pocket and cavity of his body a million times over, and still come up empty handed.
