Skateboarding is hard. It’s even harder when you can’t see.
Dan Mancina lost his eyesight at the age of 23 due to a degenerative eye disease called Retinitis Pigmentosa. Rather than quit skating, Dan adapted and virtually relearned everything, using his cane as a guide.
Now, he’s teaching other vision impaired people to skate. Mancina partnered with adidas Skateboarding and the Braille Institute for a workshop in Los Angeles to share his story, inspire the youth, and get kids rollin’ for the very first time. Pretty damn inspiring, if you ask us.
